Bristol Airport
If someone asks you about busy airports in the UK, Bristol Airport is probably not one of the ones that will immediately jump to your mind.
But in actual fact it handled nearly six million passengers in 2007 alone. That’s a lot of flights going to a lot of different destinations! Some history about Bristol Airport
This might be hard to believe, but despite its size and stature Bristol Airport hasn’t actually been around for very long.
It started life back in 1927 as nothing more than a flying club. Little did the people who started it know that it would become one of Britain’s busiest airports less than a hundred years later. One wonders what they would think of it if they were alive to see it now!
Bristol Lulsgate Airport began life some thirty years later, and after forty years of successful flying it finally got the name change which befitted the places that flights went to. From that point on it would be known as Bristol International Airport.
It has certainly come a long way since those early days when Bristol Airport referred to nothing more than a flying club. But it’s good to see the stature that the airport now has, as one of Britain’s busiest airports.
In conclusion
In short, if you have never visited Bristol Airport before you will be impressed by how much it has to offer. With a ground floor, a first floor and a mezzanine area which provides an executive lounge and plenty of places to eat and drink, it’s clear that you will be well looked after here. And that is true regardless of whether you are waiting to board a flight yourself, or you have arrived to pick someone else up when they land.
Whatever the case may be, you’ll be assured of a warm welcome and some classic Bristol hospitality from this great city.
